A princess put under a sorcerer's spell, she now lives as the lilies do in a small pond, deep in the center of an impassable forest. She doesn't mind terribly, as remaining a princess would have meant a strict life of etiquette and rules, but sometimes, quite rarely, she will cry, for the friends she has lost and the loves she will never have, and her tears turn to sapphires in the water.

Original acrylic painting on hand cut aluminum. The metal has been reclaimed from manufacturing scraps, which we clean, hand cut, and manually file all edges. Two small holes have been drilled into the piece for a hanging attachment of steel wire, strung with an eclectic selection of glass and plastic beads.

Ethereal and surreal, this painting was created in multiple translucent layers. The figure is painted in fine lines through which the background is still visible, and she has been enhanced with washes of color and shading. An orange snail blends with her fluorescent red hair, and she is surrounded by purple plants and yellow flowers. Neon overlays have also been used on the green and orange areas, this makes the art very vivid even in low light.

Measurements are taken from the widest points, the painting is approximately 7 1/2 x 5 1/8 inches
Including the beaded wire makes the piece about 10 inches tall
