Gepre hand cut and hand hammered a reclaimed 20 gauge aluminum sheet into this wiggly, fun ameboid shape. All the edges are curvy and the piece stands out from your wall with more visual interest than the standard canvas. The back has a custom made hanging mechanism attached, and a round hole punched in the center is where you hang the painting. This piece is balanced so you can rotate it on your wall. After the metal is cleaned and primed I lay down a field of vivid blue and hand drew a wonky tartan in shades of purple. Both rats are a shock of chartreuse yellow with green shading, red eyes and adorable pink tails and tiny paws. They have been captured mid-leap from their little skateboards, striped baseball hats all askew. This composition forms a strange type of yin-yang:: though rather than representing complementary contradictions, they are on an infinite rotation of spontaneity.
