Reclaimed 20 gauge aluminum has been hand cut and manually hammered to make this dimensional wall piece. All edges were manually filed smooth and the piece is ready to hang from a custom made aluminum clip.

Cranky Pansy is hand painted from start to finish and every piece is a unique individual. Here I have used a vivid cobalt blue, deep indigo violet, bright minty green and a fuchsia that has been accented with fluorescent pink. Some highlights are a shade of light pink and the background of the eyes is lavender.

Thanks to the hammering this art is dished in such a way it draws you in even if you're observing from the side. Because of how the edges mimic an organic pansy shape, the curves cast interesting shadows. A proud pansy owner has reported that in the afternoon sun her pansy looks like it's floating off the wall.

I can see this looking amazing in any number of interiors: modern, bohemian, minimalist, eclectic... even a traditional style home can handle this jolt of crazy color! The cranky face appeals to all ages because it's cute and weird and fun, so don't be shy.
