At dusk they crawl the countryside
to feed and frolic, squirm and slide,
gaze at the stars with eyes held wide,
la chenille est un chat.

To catch one is a great conceit:
caress their fur and tiny feet,
one wish they'll grant (for salmon treat)
we call it "tit-for-tat."

Alas, the clevers hide from thee,
in swamp and meadow, dell and tree,
your closest glimpse through art by me
of caterpillar cat.

Reclaimed 22 gauge steel is hand bent into a unique take on the artist's canvas. The piece comes ready to hang from a custom cut steel clip. Painting on metal is more durable than canvas as the piece will not warp or rip, but to ensure your piece remains pristine for as long as possible please keep the painting indoors, dry, and out of direct sunlight.

Entirely hand painted. A light touch of neon paint accents the cat-erpillar fur and pastel bellflower. The hazy, muted sunset reveals gentle purple stars and constellations in the sky, and two adorable red mushrooms balance the composition.

As we use reclaimed metal for our art some imperfections are expected; usually we are able to mask scratches with a high-fill primer. In this case please refer to the detail photo on the constellation to see how some scratches remain lightly visible. I do not feel these affect the appearance of the art in a negative way, but you may decide for yourself.
