Add too much frosting and cupcake comes to life. Created by the enthusiasm of a novice in the cupcake decorating tent at the county fair, a delicious chocolate cupcake with strawberry frosting grabbed the candle and is making their way through the fields to a new life.

Surreal painting handmade on a base of reclaimed aluminum with rounded corners, all sides gently hand hammered for a curved effect. Ready to hang from a handmade clip secured to the back, for a minimal look that does not require framing. The metalwork is done by the metal artist Gepre and the paintings are created by Anka, both artists comprising the partnership of AGblend13.

The sun has almost fully set, leaving the dark purple and blue sky streaked with a few yellow clouds with magenta shading. Forestland in silhouette is a backdrop for a brightly lit fair in the distance, with ferris wheel and colorful tents. Running on the hill in the foreground is a chocolate cupcake with tall tower of pink frosting covered in multicolored sprinkles, chocolate chips, icing details and a big strawberry on top. The frosting has a face with big eyes and small smile, thin arms and legs extending from the fuchsia paper cup. They hold a yellow birthday candle casting a glow on their face and body, and fireflies in the grass shed light on the clovers and vetch flowers.

This piece was meticulously painted over a series of days to allow for the building of layer after layer of paint which gives the colors their richness and the gradients an intrinsic glow.
